Avocado oil is obtained from the pulp of the fruits of Persea gratissima by pressing or centrifuging with a technology similar to that used for other vegetable oils.

Similarly to olive oil, it is rich in monounsaturated fatty acids but a peculiar feature of avocado oil is its richness in vitamin E, precursors of vitamin A and phytosterols.

The composition of Avocado oil makes it suitable for cosmetic use as a nutrient with eudermic and sebum-like characteristics.

The substances contained in the oil are able to stimulate the production of soluble collagen in the dermis, which decreases with age, and on the other hand inhibit the process of destruction of collagen by promoting the stimulus for cell renewal.

The use of Avocado oil in the cosmetic field is thus justified for preparations aimed at improving skin hydration, its elasticity and the prevention of aging.
